Chinese Knot Friendship Charms

2026

Traditional Chinese knotting combined with friendship bracelet beads, personalized with each person’s name and an acrylic pendant hand-stamped with “Stella’s 4Ever.” A goodbye gift I made for my coworkers as a symbol of good luck, prosperity, and friendship.

Collected Memories

2026

A paired installation centered around family archives, memory, and grief.

The book is a family archive of photographs that were taken on my moms old film camera. Documenting my family’s life from California to Virginia. Preserving forgotten memories that sat untouched on a hard drive. Going through this collection, I noticed some common themes but also a pattern in how my family has dealt with grief. Hiding it and moving on, leaving their absences unspoken.

This project became a way for me to stop that generational pattern and honor the people and memories still living within these photographs. Treating grief as something that doesn’t have to stay hidden.

Paired with my risograph animation, Old Home Videos, a collection of videos recorded by my mom and sister while growing up in Richmond, Virginia.
